Job summary

Ellwood Crankshaft Group is seeking a skilled professional with forging experience to join our Sharon, PA site. You will evaluate and optimize forging processes, support die design and tool development, and drive continuous improvement in product flow and quality.

Candidates should know hydraulic systems, be proficient with AutoCAD, FEA, DEFORM and SolidWorks, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams. A Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years forging experience.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and controls.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, F.E.A, DEFORM, Solid Works or equivalent modeling software.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize between development projects and daily responsibilities.
  • Must be results oriented with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive employee relations among colleagues at this facility, including providing timely communication and business updates about department metrics and function as well as addressing employee concerns, issues, and work needs.
  • Conduct continuous forging evaluation and optimization (Die Design, Tool Development, and Repair Work).
  • Assure Forge Quality Control and Continuous Improvement by troubleshooting Quality issues, developing and maintaining In-Process Quality inspections, and focusing on continuous improvement by identifying, eliminating, and preventing obstacles to efficient product flow, quality, and efficiency.
  • Lead forging design reviews across ECG facilities for new and complex parts or to review significant process changes and document the results in summary as well as ensuring any open action items are resolved.
  • Develop, maintain, and standardize clear work instructions for all production positions in the operation identifying necessary information and hardware for current/next job.
  • Work to maximize Ellwood Crankshaft Group capabilities and identify interdivisional opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead or participate in various projects as assigned.
  • Perform all other necessary duties, responsibilities, and projects, as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiar with forging processes and tooling components.
  • Familiar with quality systems control.
  • Proficient with DEFORM.
  • Experience with the following:
    • Forging Design
    • Combustion & Induction Heating
    • Lean Manufacturing/Value Stream Mapping/Theory of Constraints
    • Manufacturing Planning
