Job summary

Amsted Rail is seeking a Forging Cell Technician to operate automated and manual forging equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and throughput. You will launch control programs, fine-tune machine parameters, and measure parts to spec while coordinating with the production team.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stay on your feet during shifts, and quickly troubleshoot equipment issues. A strong safety mindset and experience in industrial settings are a plus.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and comfort with industrial environments.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, and maneuver components.

Responsibilities

• Load and operate forging equipment to produce rail components.
• Launch programs on machine control units and dial in parameters.
• Measure workpieces with gauges per the quality plan and reject defects.
• Monitor transfer conveyors and respond to abnormal sounds or issues.
• Assist with changeovers and select appropriate hand and power tools.
• Document production runs in the company system and coordinate with operators.
• Understand the full sequence of operations and final part dimensions.
• Maintain performance as conditions shift and support other duties as needed.
