The role requires at least 2 years in forge tooling or tooling/manufacturing, with AutoCAD experience and a mechanical engineering degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of forge tool room experience, or tool manufacturing experience required.
• Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent major preferred.
• Detailed knowledge of Forge Tools and manufacturing processes.
• Proven track record to manage and complete large projects.
• Ability to travel

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the comprehensive management of site tooling in alignment with the Dauch Tooling System standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and promote multi-functional cooperation with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and General Stores to ensure tooling-related topics and concerns are communicated optimally.
• Identify and support Continuous Improvement activities for Quality (Scrap reduction), and Cost (CPU).
• Maintain Technical Tooling documentation, Tooling Drawings, and Tool Layouts (AutoCAD or similar).
• Support plant tool manufacturing operations to ensure accuracy, organization, and best practices.
• Coordinate with preferred Tool Steel Suppliers to identify best practices, continuous improvement activity, and new technologies.
• Support the management of tooling inventory, tool reconditioning, and scrap tooling processes.
• Utilize problem solving and troubleshooting techniques to resolve machining issues.
• Quote cost per unit of new jobs based on tooling selection and expected tool life.
• Teach and mentor tooling and manufacturing engineers at the plant level.
• Interact with plant tool rooms to support their forge tool manufacturing processes.
