Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East seeks a Press Operator to manage production scheduling, perform set-ups, and ensure safe, efficient press operation. Qualifications

• Must meet background and drug requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production schedule and ensure press runs safely.
• Set up press and adjust bolts, clamps, and burner assembly.
• Verify correct setup at start of shift.
• Lubricate die surfaces and stock.
• Load/unload parts with press and conveyor.
• Document accurate part counts.
• Report defects and participate in continuous improvement.
• Follow LEAN and SPC practices.
• Wear PPE and follow safety procedures.

Job description

OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for maintaining the production schedule, capturing data from the press, and making sure the press is running safely and fully optimized.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform the press set-up including any changes or adjustments to bolts, clamps, and burner assembly at the beginning of each production run.
• Verify the press is set up correctly and safely at the start of each shift.
• Check the die and stock temperatures with infrared gun and temperature sticks before running press.
• Operate the forging press at operating console.
• Lubricate die surfaces and stock/parts.
• Clean die with air brush (angle and in-line tool) at times of lube build-up.
• Assist Press Loader with loading and unloading of parts at the press and conveyor oven.
• Maintain accurate part-counts of current production.
• Assure quality and production requirements are met, as per job-specific travelers.
• Report any equipment or facility defect(s) or mechanical dysfunctions to Supervisor.
• Participate in total quality management projects to achieve continuous improvement.
• Participate in LEAN manufacturing and SPC activities as required.
• Ensure any accident or injury is promptly reported.
• Wear proper Personal Protection Equipment in work area at all time.

REQUIREMENTS

• MUST meet all background and drug requirements.
• High School Diploma.
• 6+ months of forging experience.
• Aluminum forge press and/or related alloy mechanical press operation experience.
• 5 years general industrial manufacturing/production experience.
• Able to understand instructions and safety procedures.
