Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation is seeking a Hammer & Die Repair Person to maintain forging equipment by repairing hammers, dies and related components. The role requires welding, machining and precision work in a manufacturing setting.

You will read blueprints, operate MIG and carbon-arc welders, and coordinate with maintenance staff to minimize downtime while following safety protocols. A high school diploma and hands-on welding/machining experience are essential.

Qualifications

2 years welding and machining experience.
High school diploma or GED; trade school certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery.
Welding and metal fabrication experience required.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with lockout/tagout and OSHA safety standards.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Repair and prepare forging hammers, dies, and wear parts.
Operate MIG welder and carbon/arc; use grinders and milling equipment.
Read blueprints and schematics; fabricate parts as needed.
Collaborate with electricians, engineers, and maintenance staff to troubleshoot and optimize equipment performance.
Document work in CMMS; maintain accurate logs and reports.
Ensure safety rules and housekeeping of work areas; adhere to environmental regulations.
