Job summary

Bell Lumber & Pole is seeking a Tree / Pole Marker to operate in Western and Southern Arkansas. The role involves outdoor fieldwork marking trees, collecting forestry data, and promoting safe, sustainable forestry practices across designated areas in Arkansas.

The candidate will identify tree species, assess health for harvest, and map marked trees using GPS. Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Natural Resources or Forestry preferred.
• Travel will be required with prolonged sitting in a vehicle.
• Proficiency in using GPS systems, mapping tools, and basic computer software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Outdoor safety awareness and physical stamina.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of designated areas to identify trees slated for harvesting.
• Identify tree species and assess health and quality for harvest.
• Mark selected trees for cutting according to guidelines for poles and other needs.
• Ensure accurate mapping of marked trees using GPS or designated tools.
• Collaborate with forestry teams for efficient workflow and proper logging.
• Maintain safety protocols and environmental compliance during marking activities.
• Record data related to marked trees and prepare reports.
• Maintain forestry records for analysis and planning.
