Job summary

Rayonier Advanced Materials Inc. seeks an Operational Forestry Intern to gain hands-on exposure to timber sales, silvicultural planning, forest management, and related operations.

You'll conduct field measurements, support inventory and market analysis, and use GIS software while learning from a team with nearly 100 years of experience. The internship is 10–12 weeks, with a housing allowance and travel support as described in the posting.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student
• Pursuing a degree in Forestry, Forest Management, Natural Resources, or a closely related field
• Be available for a 10- to 12-week summer internship
• Be self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Be willing to travel as required by the assignment
• Provide reliable personal transportation
• Have access to a four-wheel-drive vehicle and be able to safely navigate forest roads
• Be comfortable working independently in remote outdoor locations
• Be able to work in varying weather and field conditions, including heat, rain, and uneven terrain

Responsibilities

• Completing field reconnaissance, mapping, and timber inventory assignments
• Supporting timber market research and analysis
• Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software

Operational Forestry Internships

Operational Forestry Interns gain exposure to timber sales, silvicultural planning, forest management, and other aspects of Rayonier’s forestry operations.

Assignments May Include

• Conducting field measurements using forestry tools and data recorders
• Completing field reconnaissance, mapping, and timber inventory assignments

• Assisting with timber sales and silvicultural planning
• Supporting additional forestry projects as assigned

Operational Forestry Internships may be available throughout Rayonier’s U.S. land base.

Compensation And Benefits

• $20 Sophomore $22 Junior $24 Senior $25 Grad
• $3000 housing allowance
