Job summary

Weyerhaeuser’s Western Timberlands Operations offers summer intern positions in Washington and Oregon for 2027, with opportunities across Forest Management, Forest Engineering, Inventory/Planning/GIS and Western Regeneration tracks. Interns will gain hands-on field experience and supporting office work, with potential project assignments.

Interviews are anticipated Sept–Nov. Compensation includes hourly wages by year level, a $2,000 one-time stipend, mileage reimbursement, and housing stipend

Qualifications

• Completed at least one year of college by summer of 2027.
• Capacity to work both independently and in a team setting, adhering to all safety expectations.
• Interest in hands-on work in an outdoor environment.
• Demonstrable skills in computer applications as they relate to the discipline.
• Ability to understand and implement applicable regulatory laws.
• Willing to be assigned to locations within Oregon and Washington, often rural.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Background check, MVR, and pre-employment drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Support Forest Management, Forestry field tasks and GIS mapping assignments.
• Assist Forest Engineering tasks: stream buffer marking, road layout, map production (GIS).
• Contribute to Inventory/Planning/GIS data collection and plan development.
• Work with Western Regeneration nursery team on crop development and field activities.
