Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a Temporary Laborer in Forestry for tree watering and ground-level support on maintenance projects. You will perform semi-skilled tasks, handle equipment, and assist in traffic control near roadways.

An ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and basic computer skills to follow instructions and work well in a team. This is a full-time role for 9 months at an hourly rate of $18.22.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to take instructions; work in a team environment and serve the public.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle for local travel.
• General computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Water street trees and assist in tree maintenance operations.
• Perform necessary manual tasks on the ground to support trimming or removal work.
• Operate chainsaws and hand tools as required.
• Assist in stump removal and related activities.
• Assist with traffic control: set up cones/temporary signs and manage vehicle flow.
• Walk up and down curbs, drive a pickup truck, and wind the hose on a reel.
