Job summary

Irving Woodlands in Maine is offering summer internship positions for students pursuing forestry-related studies. You will gain hands-on experience in planting, thinning, silviculture, and field operations with a dynamic team, using modern tools and safety practices.

This temporary full-time program runs mid-May to mid-August, includes a company vehicle, housing stipend, uniforms, and an end-of-season bonus, with opportunities for growth and resume-building in a challenging forest management

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of 1st year of post-secondary education and in good academic standing.

Responsibilities

• Learn to navigate across a large land base using provided tools (Avenza, Field Maps).
• Manage an efficient operation and supervise teams to meet quality and productivity standards.
• Understand Northeastern forests and silviculture practices.
• Gain and understanding of industrial forestry practices.
• Think critically and solve problems.
• Coordinate logistics and seedling delivery; work with contractors for steady work flow.
