This position is based in Area 36, covering Claiborne, Copiah, and Jefferson counties. It is a first-level professional forestry role responsible for preparing county fire plans, training county crews in fire suppression, timber management, and safety, as well as preparing detailed forest management plans, marking timber, locating timber markets, supervising prescribed burns, and managing safety programs and firefighting equipment.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree, 0-2 years of experience, and licensure as a Registered Forester. The agency prefers candidates who either have or will complete their Registered Forester licensure within the first year of employment.
