Job summary

The State of South Carolina Forestry Commission in Columbia seeks a Stewardship Forester to coordinate and implement the Stewardship Forester Program at the regional level. You will work with private landowners, consultants, and agency staff to develop and monitor Stewardship Management Plans and provide technical assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry or related natural resources with SAF requirements.
• Master’s or Doctorate in forestry meets SAF education requirements.
• CRIMINAL background check and drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement the Stewardship Forester Program at regional level.
• Develop and monitor Stewardship Management Plans for private landowners.
• Provide technical assistance to landowners and coordinate with consultants and agencies.
• Lead regional stewardship education efforts and present to groups.
