Job summary

Rayonier seeks a Manager, Forest Productivity & Optimization to enhance efficiency, productivity, and long-term sustainability of forestry operations. You will lead high-impact projects and translate research into actionable field strategies for foresters.

This role requires a Bachelor’s in Forestry or related field (MS preferred) and at least five years in forestry operations, with GIS and data-analysis skills.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Forest Management, or a related field. A Master of Science in Forestry or a related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and resource allocation.
• Structure and manage continuous improvement projects; develop and scale cost-efficiency initiatives.
• Design and implement field trials to evaluate emerging technologies, silvicultural practices, tree improvement, and forest nutrition.
• Partner with university and industry research cooperatives, coordinating activities to maximize benefits.
• Collect and analyze financial and operational forestry data to identify trends and drive decisions.
• Oversee project budgets and forecasts, maintain cost controls, and report variances.
• Act as a technical advisor to silviculture managers and foresters; ensure findings are adopted in operations.
• Promote safety and sustainability in all productivity initiatives.
