Green Diamond is seeking an Inventory Forester for our Humboldt County, California timberlands. The role blends fieldwork with data analysis, GIS mapping, and remote sensing to maintain accurate forest inventories that support sustainable management.

Responsibilities include designing cruises, updating stand data, and collaborating with forestry professionals. The team values learning, teamwork, and practical applied skills. Onsite work in a forested environment is expected.

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year college degree in forestry or natural resources.
• Experience with timber cruises and vegetation surveys.
• Familiarity with ArcMap and remote sensing technologies.
• Ability to work in forest environments and travel to field sites.
• Strong numerical/analytical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement timber cruises.
• Utilize GIS and remote sensing technologies.
• Review inventory data; ensure accuracy for management decisions.
• Collaborate with foresters and contractors; communicate findings.
• Train others on timber cruising protocols.
