Job summary

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a motivated research intern to join a forest genetics and tree improvement program. You will support large greenhouse experiments, collect plant data, and assist with experimental operations alongside scientists and technical staff.

The internship lasts 12 to 16 weeks in mid/late June to mid/late September 2027, with a typical 40-hour work week. Compensation includes hourly pay, safety gear allowance, and potential stipends for relocation and housing.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in forestry, biology, ecology, environmental science, natural resources, agriculture, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in greenhouse and laboratory environments.
• Familiarity with Excel, data management, or statistical software.
• Ability to lift and move plant materials and research equipment.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Collect plant measurements and assist with experimental operations.
• Manage research data and support laboratory and greenhouse activities.
• Collaborate with scientists and technical staff on ongoing projects.
• Support data collection during intensive physiological measurement periods.
