Texas A&M AgriLife Research seeks an outstanding, innovative Assistant Professor in Forest Ecology and Modeling to establish a nationally recognized program at the Blackland Research and Extension Center in Temple, TX, affiliated with the Department of Ecology and Conservation Biology at Texas A&M University.

The position emphasizes externally funded, collaborative research on forest ecosystems, climate impacts, and sustainable management, with responsibilities including data analysis,

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in forest science or a closely related field by hire date.
• Strong knowledge of forest ecology and related fields.
• Experience with forest modeling, biometrics, and geospatial analysis.
• Evidence of peer‑reviewed publications.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; team-building and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead a nationally funded research program on forest landscapes.
• Develop and apply forest ecosystem models under varying conditions.
• Publish results and disseminate models to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Texas A&M Forest Service and other agencies.
• Mentor graduate students and supervise staff.
