Job summary

LandYield is seeking a Platform Operations Specialist to support the web-based platform and landowner enrollment processes. You will review landowner sites for eligibility, handle deed/title checks, and use GIS to ensure compliance with program standards.

You will communicate updates to landowners and assist with CORE platform questions. You’ll coordinate landowner payments, review reports, and help with mapping changes as part of a small, collaborative team striving for accurate project

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience using GIS to evaluate land parcels and project site eligibility.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for landowners and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Job description

LandYield is a U.S.-based forest carbon project developer committed to connecting small private landowners with carbon markets, providing revenue to rural landowners and contributing to climate change mitigation through high-quality forest carbon removal projects. Through LandYield’s proprietary platform, landowners can remotely design projects and seamlessly enroll their properties. LandYield is now active in 32 states across the eastern and midwestern U.S. LandYield is scaling rapidly and building a strong operational team to support future growth.

Job Description

The Platform Operations Specialist position will support all operations of LandYield’s web-based platform. Specifically, they will support landowner enrollment through GIS mapping to design forest carbon project sites, reviewing deeds, parcel boundaries, and project eligibility according to registry standards, coordinating landowner payments, reviewing periodic reporting and executing requested data extracts. As a small team, we’re looking for a flexible and competent team player with strong communication skills willing to jump in where needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review submitted forest carbon project sites for program eligibility
  • Review submitted landowner documents including, deeds, tax bills, and easements
  • Perform title and deed searches, including requesting documents from counties, to confirm ownership and program eligibility
  • Use GIS to make necessary changes to submitted sites and ensure that included areas are compliant with program requirements
  • Clearly communicate site updates and document requests to landowner both over email and phone
GIS and Project Submission Support
  • Support landowners with project submissions as needed, including answering questions about the CORE platform and providing GIS support while landowners build maps
  • Communicate with landowners over phone and email to help them complete sites and submit needed documents
Contract support and document recordation
  • Work with legal team to create contracts for landowners
  • Conduct meetings with landowners to answer questions regarding contracts
  • Guide landowners through the administrative steps of the contracting process
  • Work with contract recordation service to ensure that contracts are properly recorded with respective counties
Platform landowner support services
  • Manage payments system to ensure landowner payments are received on time
  • Review periodic landowner reports
  • Assist landowners with setting up electronic payment accounts
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Support landowner enrollment efforts through personal communication (email, phone calls, in-person visits) to inform and educate around program requirements, answer questions, and help landowners through the enrollment process
  • Work with sales and GIS team to identify and contact high potential landowners
  • Represent LandYield at landowner and forestry conferences across the Midwest and Eastern US
Additional LandYield Team support
  • Support change detection assessments on project sites
  • Work to prepare and submit necessary data for project site verificationsWork with platform technical team to identify and test platform improvements
