Job summary

Qualifications

• MS degree in Forestry with biometrics or statistics and 3+ years experience.
• Strong research, analytical and communication skills; ability to collaborate across locations.
• Working knowledge of forest inventory techniques and growth modeling.
• Experience with GIS and relational databases for querying, analysis and reporting.
• Programming in a structured language (R or Python).

Responsibilities

• Set direction and protocols for forest inventory data collection and modeling; ensure accuracy for decisions.
• Lead maintenance and enhancement of growth & yield models for inventory updates, harvest planning, carbon strategy, and planning.
• Participate in carbon accounting initiatives and support annual reporting.
• Provide technical oversight for carbon project inventory data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
• Develop remotely sensed inventory models and apply remote sensing in inventory systems.
• Support acquisition through inventory verification, data processing, due diligence, and cross-regional transactions.
• Represent the company in silviculture, tree-improvement, modeling, and research co-ops; transfer research into practice.
• Respond to information requests and ensure timberland services are met.
