Job description

This is a remote role; however, candidates must be located in or within very close proximity to one of the following cities: Columbus (Ohio), Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC.

As a member of our Built Environment team, you’ll work alongside some of the world’s top minds with clients that reshape design across all industries. You’ll collaborate on challenging projects with team members from many backgrounds and disciplines, increasing your understanding of complex business problems from diverse perspectives and developing new skills and experience to help you at every stage of your career—at FTI and beyond.

YOUR KEY OBJECTIVES:

  1. Conduct in-depth research on emerging trends, technologies, societal shifts, and global megatrends.
  2. Use qualitative and quantitative methods to identify weak signals, driving forces, and systemic patterns.
  3. Analyze industry-specific and cross-sectoral disruptions that may impact clients.
  4. Advanced ability to analyze data and summarize information from multiple sources to perform analyses.
  5. Design and develop future scenarios to explore potential pathways for organizations.
  6. Facilitate scenario planning workshops with clients and stakeholders.
  7. Create actionable strategies based on foresight insights, aligning with organizational goals and priorities.
  8. Collaborate with clients to understand their strategic objectives and challenges.
  9. Identify opportunities for innovation in products, services, or business models.
  10. Evaluate risks and uncertainties to inform decision-making.
  11. Recommend proactive measures to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  12. Write detailed reports and white papers summarizing key insights and recommendations.
  13. Design compelling presentations, dashboards, or visualizations to communicate complex ideas.
  14. Work on 2-4 projects simultaneously.
  15. Provide intermediate subject matter expertise in the design and built environment space.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Design or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a consultant working at a mid-sized or larger firm. Experience in consumer insights or strategic foresight consulting preferred.
  • Exceptional research, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Innovative mindset to approach complex challenges.
  • Strong facilitation and workshop design capabilities.
  • Excellent business writing skills. Ability to synthesize information into interesting, readable reports.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to develop and use custom frameworks to help communicate ideas.
  • Proficiency in foresight tools and frameworks preferred.
  • Deeply interested in the technologies that will influence the future of built environment.
  • Experience working with remote teams and in virtual office environments.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and open to different ways of solving problems.
  • Multilingual abilities and global perspective.
