Job summary

XKIG is seeking an experienced arborist crew leader in Charleston, SC to direct daily field operations, manage equipment and crews, and ensure safe, compliant work on property sites. The role includes meticulous timekeeping, billing data entry, and clear communication with property owners.

Applicants should have two years of vegetation management experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to read contracts while maintaining excellent customer relations and safety standards on

• Read and understand contract requirements and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct crew members and manage equipment daily.
• Plan, assign, and execute tasks safely and professionally.
• Perform daily reporting using AMS system for timesheets and billing.
• Notify property owners about presence and obtain access permissions.
• Oversee equipment use and cleanup; ensure supplies are secured.
• Keep accurate records of time, equipment, and materials.

Job description

• Pay or shift range: $24 USD to $25 USD
  This is an estimated pay range for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Description

• Direct crew members and manage equipment each day.
• Plans, assigns, and executes specific tasks in a safe a professional manner to crew and supervise performance.
• Performs daily reporting using AMS system to submit timesheets and billing information.
• Notify private property owners of presence on property; obtain permission from property owners to trim or remove trees and/or apply herbicides; discuss issues such as obtaining access, power interruption, work to be done, etc. with customer and/or property owner.
• Oversee equipment and material usage, and cleanup. Make sure all equipment and supplies are secure on the truck.
• Keep accurate records of time, equipment, and material used.
• Maintain above standard customer relations.

Education and Experience

• Two years’ experience in Vegetation Management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• Meets and demonstrates qualifications of all positions on a crew.
• Delegates work and take accountability for the performance of a crew.
• Ability to read and understand contract requirements.
• Knowledge of botanical and common names of trees and plants.
• Experience in safe operations and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Able to adjust to field requirements and take independent action without close supervision.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and clean MVR.

This is a safety sensitive position that requires employee to be able to pass a background check and drug screen as required for this job.
