Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking a Surface Quarry Lead Person in Bardstown, KY for an onsite leadership role overseeing daily production and maintenance in a high-volume aggregate operation. You will supervise maintenance and production staff, coordinate machine upkeep, and drive safe, efficient plant performance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in quarry, mining, or industrial environments and can balance maintenance with production priorities while mentoring others.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in quarry, aggregate, mining or industrial maintenance.
• Strong hands-on mechanical abilities for equipment repair.
• Experience with crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps.
• Ability to lead teams and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and direct maintenance and production personnel.
• Coordinate maintenance activities to keep production equipment operating efficiently.
• Perform hands-on repairs and troubleshooting of crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, and related equipment.
• Conduct screen changes, crusher liner replacements, conveyor adjustments, pump servicing, and wear-part replacements.
• Monitor plant equipment and address production issues quickly and safely.
• Support production goals while maintaining high safety standards.
• Assist with scheduling work assignments and prioritizing maintenance needs.
• Fill in for site leadership when needed.
• Ensure compliance with MSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Maintain housekeeping, quality standards, and operational excellence throughout the facility.
• Help drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and production.

Surface Quarry Lead Person | Bardstown, KY Area | Onsite

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Surface Quarry Lead Person to help oversee daily production and maintenance activities at a high-volume aggregate operation. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting safe, efficient plant operations while leading and mentoring maintenance personnel.

The ideal candidate will have experience in quarry, aggregate, mining, heavy civil, or industrial plant environments and be comfortable balancing equipment maintenance, production priorities, and team leadership.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Lead, train, and direct maintenance and production personnel.
• Coordinate maintenance activities to keep production equipment operating efficiently.
• Perform hands-on repairs and troubleshooting of crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, and related equipment.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on equipment repair experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, and related equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to lead and direct employees in a production environment.
• Familiarity with MSHA regulations and safety practices.
• Basic Microsoft Office and reporting skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Reliable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Limestone or crushed stone quarry experience.
• Prior leadership experience supervising maintenance personnel.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience operating loaders, haul trucks, or other heavy equipment.
• Ability to read equipment manuals and mechanical drawings.
• Experience developing maintenance schedules and tracking equipment repairs.
• $30-$35 per hour
• Typical annual earnings between $85,000-$100,000/year at 50 hours per week
