An established industry player seeks a dedicated X-Ray Technician to support medical examiner services through operating X-ray and PMCT equipment. This role involves performing scans, preparing decedents, and ensuring high-quality digital imaging. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner investigates cases of persons who die within New York City from criminal violence, by accident, by suicide, suddenly when in apparent health, when unattended by a physician, in a correctional facility or in any suspicious or unusual manner or where an application is made pursuant to law for a permit to cremate a body of a person.

Under direct supervision, selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
X-RAY TECHNICIAN - 51310
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and a valid license as a General Radiological Technologist issued by the State of New York. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment in this title.
NOTES:
1. For appointment to Assignment Level III, in addition to meeting the above requirement, all candidates must have two years of satisfactory, full-time experience as an X-Ray Technician, which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
2. For assignment to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner only, one year of satisfactory full-time experience operating X-Ray apparatus and auxiliary equipment may be substituted for the above-cited license.
One year of experience in processing dental work digital x-ray experience a plus.
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
