Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Lenexa, KS seeks a Forensic Toxicology Laboratory Scientist I to support donor specimen testing, including preparation and instrument operation. The role runs Tuesday through Saturday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with emphasis on accuracy and workflow efficiency in a high‑volume toxicology lab.

The candidate will maintain chain of custody, follow SOPs, perform routine instrument checks, and participate in calibration/validation activities, while contributing to a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree with Chemistry/Biology coursework as specified.
• Knowledge of laboratory methods and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain chain of custody of forensic specimens and follow approved sample handling procedures.
• Follow SOPs, prepare and verify reagents, and ensure QC samples are included in each batch.
• Program sequence table for sample analysis and perform basic data review.
• Maintain documentation, keep work area clean, and perform equipment checks.
• Participate in method/instrument validation and calibration activities.
• Adhere to policies and complete required QA documentation.
