Job summary

Center for Forensic Science Research & Education (CFSRE) seeks a Forensic Toxicology Instructor to join our education and training team. This full-time, year-round role educates and mentors the next generation of forensic scientists through hands-on laboratory instruction, graduate education, and professional training.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in forensic toxicology or related field.
• At least 2 years teaching or mentoring experience.
• Hands-on laboratory experience in forensic toxicology or analytical chemistry.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Graduate Instruction: Deliver hands-on forensic toxicology laboratory training for graduate students in TJU and Arcadia programs.
• Summer Internships: Lead two summer undergraduate forensic toxicology internship cohorts with supervision, assessments and mentorship.
• INL Visiting Scientist Toxicology Skills: Design and manage a training program for toxicologists in S American and S Asian countries.
• Laboratory Training: Instruct on sample prep, analytical techniques, chromatography, mass spectrometry, data interpretation, and QA.
• Curriculum Development: Update lab exercises, materials, assessments, and training protocols.
• Student Mentorship: Guide students in lab skills, communication, research and career readiness.
• Additional Teaching: Support continuing education courses and workshop initiatives.
• Program Collaboration: Coordinate with CFSRE scientists and university faculty.
