Position Summary: The role of the Therapist - Forensic Services Support Program is to provide services to SMI incarcerated individuals during and up to thirty (30) days following incarceration to ensure a stable transition back into the community. This involves employing a holistic, strengths-based approach that addresses conditions within the offender's life that could contribute to recidivism, joblessness, homelessness, and/or substance abuse relapse. Glade Run recognizes that maintaining service continuity as the individual moves through the criminal justice system and returns to the community is critical.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Services, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and/or Criminal Justice related field
  • Two years of Master-level clinical experience required, with at least one year working with adults
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with agency personnel and community stakeholders
  • Ability to accept supervision and adjust hours as needed
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Emotional stability to perform essential job functions
  • Comfort working in a correctional facility environment
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively in high-pressure situations
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to protect client confidentiality
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Clearances: PA State Police, PA Child Abuse, FBI

  • Conduct psychosocial and health assessments at initial sessions
  • Work on skill sets aligned with Treatment Plan goals during each session
  • Discharge planning from the start of treatment, focusing on stability and community reintegration
  • Complete mental health assessments for service planning and court decisions

  • Trauma-Informed Care
  • Crisis intervention and assessment of high risk and suicide
  • Understanding of criminal justice operations
