Job summary

Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital in Holyoke, MA seeks a Substance Abuse Therapist for the Forensic Unit on the Mountain View 4th floor. Full-time days, Monday–Friday, 7am–3:30pm, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Must have a bachelor’s in a relevant field and be licensed as LADC-I or II.

Responsibilities include assessments, individual and group therapy, and accurate documentation. The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care in an inpatient/outpatient setting, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Provide direct assessment and counseling to adolescent, adult and geriatric clients.
• Perform individual, marital, family and group psychotherapy as assigned.
• Maintain accurate records and proper billing paperwork.
• Knowledge CPT codes and their application.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, hospital and staff information.
• Deliver care with respect for cultural and spiritual differences.
• Participate in community consultation and education as requested.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and communicate clinical impressions.
• Compile patient/family history and records.
• Adapt schedule to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
• Maintain thorough clinical notes and billing documentation.
• Apply CPT coding accurately in records.
• Protect patient confidentiality at all times.
