The State of Georgia is seeking a BehaviorHlth Counselor 2 for the Forensic Mental Health Treatment Mall at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA. Salary: $52,074.88.

Primary duties include client counseling, substance use assessments, and treatment planning within a team-based setting. Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in clinical/counseling psychology or related field, with CADC I/II or CAC certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in clinical/counseling psychology or closely related field.
• Experience with severe and persistent mental health issues and/or developmental disability.
• Certification as CADC I/II or CAC is required or may be required.
• Bachelor’s degree plus two years of related experience or one year at Behavioral Hlth Counselor 1.
• Note: some positions may require certification or licensure.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients in individual and group sessions to build coping strategies and support transition from hospital to community.
• Conduct substance use assessments using clinical interviews and evidence-based measures.
• Maintain confidentiality of treatment records.
• Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to treatment plan goals.
• Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
