Job summary

The Anaheim Police Department is seeking a Forensic Services Supervisor to plan, organize, supervise, and review the work of civilian personnel in the Forensic Services Detail, including both field and office staff.

The supervisor will oversee a 24/7 crime scene investigation bureau, handling evidence processing, latent fingerprint comparisons, and AFIS operations, with a dedicated team including nine full-time and two part-time specialists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in forensics, criminal justice, biology, or related field.
• Extensive experience (5-10 years) of experience performing complex duties related to evidence gathering and crime scene investigation.
• Lead or supervisory experience overseeing crime scene investigation staff.
• Any of the following certifications: IAI Latent Print Certification, IAI Crime Scene Certification, IAI Forensic Photography & Imaging Certification, IAI Bloodstain Pattern Analyst Certification

Job description

TheAnaheim Police Departmentis looking for a dedicated individual to fill the position ofForensic Services Supervisor. This position requires the ability to plan, organize, supervise, and review the work of civilian personnel assigned to the Forensic Services Detail, including field and office staff.

The Forensic Services Supervisor oversees a full-service crime scene investigation bureau, which operates 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. The Forensic Bureau is responsible for responding to and processing a wide range of crime scenes, evidence processing, conducting latent fingerprint comparisons, and searching latent prints through an Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). The position supervises nine full-time Forensic Specialists, two part-time Forensic Specialists, and one Senior Office Specialist. This is a supervisory position that requires the ability to respond to major crime scenes and provide operational support when needed. Candidates should understand that the position may require call-outs for major incidents and work outside normal business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

The ideal candidate will possess:
