Job description

Job Description:

• Write reports and publications and present findings in meetings.
• Serve as the technical leader of the Current Day Operations or the Past Accounting or Family Reference sections; or as the chief of emerging technology, or Laboratory Quality Manager.
• Execute assigned tasks and share findings with other project team members.
• Provide consultation on complex projects.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in biology, chemistry, forensic science, or a related discipline required.
• Completed twelve (12) semesters or equivalent credit hours in undergraduate and graduate coursework in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and statistics or population genetics; at least one graduate-level course of three (3) or more semester hours.
• Minimum of three (3) years of forensic DNA laboratory experience working with forensic DNA testing for criminal evidence.
• At least three (3) years of human DNA experience as a qualified analyst on forensic samples.
• Experience managing a forensic laboratory, including technicians and scientists.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Desired skills include knowledge of filing techniques, administrative typing, technical documentation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Preferred experience with DNA processing, PCR, electrophoresis, DNA synthesis, STR technologies, automated instrumentation, and statistical analysis in forensic DNA.
