Job summary

Penrose - St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs is seeking an RN Sexual Assault Examiner to perform forensic examinations, collect and preserve evidence, and collaborate with the healthcare team to meet patient needs.

The role includes potential expert testimony and involvement in the judicial process. The incumbent will be a Registered Nurse with specialized forensic examination skills, strong clinical judgment, and excellent communication with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• RN license; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
• Three (3) years relevant healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete forensic examination and collection of evidence.
• Responds to page within 10 minutes and arrives within 60 minutes of call.
• Collaborates with SART to ensure follow-up care.
• Accurately documents all findings of examination and maintains patient records.
• Participates in continuing education of forensic nursing (IAFN) every 2 years.
