Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System's Fremont facility seeks a Forensic RN Examiner on a casual on-call basis to help establish a forensic nursing program and deliver compassionate, high-quality care to sexual assault victims.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, coordinate with physicians and community resources, and provide emotional support while ensuring patient safety and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Current RN license (compact multistate) or temporary permit.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred or required within 3 months.
• NCC certification within 1 year of eligibility preferred.
• Annual mandatory education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate nursing care per population criteria to ensure understanding and comfort.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments to determine care needs and discharge planning.
• Develop and revise the plan of care with interdisciplinary team, including crisis intervention.
• Administer medications safely and monitor effects, following protocols.
• Provide emotional support for sexual assault victims and link to community resources.
• Participate in on-call schedule to ensure 24-hour forensic RN availability.
