Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking a qualified Forensic Psychologist in the Office of Forensic Services within the DBHDD. The role involves outpatient evaluations across Georgia, with travel to various sites and supervision under the Community Forensic Director.

Responsibilities include forensic Mental Health assessments, report preparation, and potential testimony. Requires a doctoral degree, GA licensure, and experience in criminal forensic psychology.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• Current Georgia license to practice psychology.
• One year of experience at Psychologist 1 (HCP140) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform face-to-face forensic mental health evaluations to determine competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, and violence risk.
• Prepare complete reports and provide expert testimony as required.
• Travel within Georgia to support outpatient evaluation teams and inpatient forensic hospitals.
