Job summary

The University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position in the Division of Forensic Pediatrics and Child Protection. The role will become Medical Director of UF’s Child Protection Team (CPT) and its fellowship program.

You will direct day-to-day CPT operations, provide medical care to abuse victims, supervise team physicians, and lead training for fellows, residents and medical students, including community trainings on

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required and Florida Medical License eligibility.
• Non-tenure accruing Assistant/Associate Professor appointment.
• Directs CPT team and fellowship program.
• Medical care to victims of child abuse and teaching of fellows, residents and medical students.

Responsibilities

• Direct CPT team operations and administration for program service delivery.
• Lead coordinated response to Child Abuse Hotline reports with local agencies.
• Provide advanced medical consultations interfacing with county agencies, medical examiners, and state attorneys.
• Supervise medical evaluations of children suspected to be abused or neglected.
• Arrange and provide in-service training and statewide CPT training sessions.
• Participate in CADR committee and annual abuse-detection trainings.
• Oversee screening of child abuse reports and be available for 24/7 consultation.
• Be available 24 hours a day for consultation; arrange coverage when unavailable.
• Ensure medical staffing representation for the CPT.
• Participate in peer reviews and monitoring of CPT teams.
• Attend statewide meetings and trainings; provide medical expertise to other teams.
• Provide depositions and expert court testimony when appropriate.
• Teach fellows, residents and medical students.
