Job summary

The Oklahoma Forensic Center in Vinita is seeking a Forensic Officer IV for the Security team at an inpatient behavioral health facility. You will patrol premises, enforce rules, monitor security cameras, and assist with transporting individuals as needed.

This full-time, non-exempt role pays $19.95 per hour, with shift options and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, and retirement savings.

Qualifications

• Basic security and/or firefighter’s course completed.
• Four years of security or fire prevention experience or 18 months plus CLEET licensure.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facilities and grounds for hazards; enforce laws, rules and regs.
• Patrol premises to ensure safety; monitor cameras and assist staff with movements.
• Transport consumers to appointments or off-site locations as needed; respond to emergencies.

Come grow with us! The Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC)locatedin Vinita, OK is a 24

hour/365 daysecure inpatient forensic facility that provides jail competency services for the

State of Oklahoma. Currently, OFC has 268 beds for consumers who have been found

Incompetent for adjudication oradjudicated asNot Guilty by Reason of Insanity. OFC is

expanding with construction scheduled to be completed inthe Fall of2025 adding anadditional

84beds. When completed, OFC will have a total of 352 beds to house consumers

About the position:

Here at the Oklahoma Forensic Center the Security department is hiring for a Forensic Officer that would be assigned responsibilities at an inpatient behavioral health facility that may include, but are not limited to, the inspection of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards, enforcement of laws, rules and regulations and providing security against acts of terrorism. This may include patrolling assigned premises to identify and correct fire hazards, providing assistance to employees, directing traffic, monitoring security cameras, performing walks of the units, assisting staff with the movement of consumers within the facility to assure safety, transporting consumers to appointments, off grounds if needed and responds and assists with medical emergencies or other calls from the units and Supervising employees.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a basic security and/or firefighter’s course and four years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work.plusoneadditionalyear of qualifying experience; OR eighteen months of experience in security work and a current licensure as an armed security guard through the Council of Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET).

Special Requirements:

• Applicantmust be able to pass an OSBI background check.
• Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.

• Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 60 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.
