Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) seeks Registered Nurses at the Oklahoma Forensic Center in Vinita for direct inpatient care of behavioral health patients. Come grow with us! The Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC)locatedin Vinita, OK is a 24 hour/365 daysecure inpatient forensic facility that provides jail competency services for the State of Oklahoma. Currently, OFC has 268 beds for consumers who have been found incompetent for adjudication oradjudicated asNot Guilty by Reason of Insanity.

About the Position

Here at the Oklahoma Forensic Center the Nursing department is hiring for Registered Nurses that would provide direct care for consumers of behavioral health treatment in an inpatient setting. Duties would include providing professional nursing services to include but not limitedto:nursing assessments, planning, interventions, health related education, case management and administering medications and treatments prescribed by a person authorized to prescribe by state law.

Job Type/Salary:
  • Open/Close dates:7/2/2026-untill filled

  • Full-time

  • Hourly payrate: Level III- $36.77/hr, Level II- $34.85/hr, Level I- $33.65/hr

  • Pay differentials when applicable

  • Primary Working Hours are: 6:30am-7:00pm and6:30pm-7:00am

  • FLSA Status: Exempt

  • Primary Work Location/Department: Oklahoma Forensic Center/Nursing

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Level III-Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of possession of a valid Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and two years of professional nursing experience in a field of nursing appropriate to the health care setting; or Registered Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) and two years of professional nursing experience in a field of nursing appropriate to the health care setting.

  • Level II- Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of possession of a valid Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and one year of professional nursing.

  • Level I- Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of possession of a valid Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing; or Registered Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

Special Requirements:
  • Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.

  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job‑related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.

  • Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants mustsubmitto a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.
