Job summary

Qualifications

• Must pass HRRM Clerical Skills Test with 85% and typing speed of 45 wpm and 85% accuracy.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening required.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides general clerical support in the morgue as needed/directed.
• Handles incoming/outgoing calls with funeral homes, decedent families, and Department staff.
• Reviews all release documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Completes primary and secondary verification of information in the Department's case management system.
• Retrieves decedents from morgue and verifies identification bands for release; handles property release.
• Maintains daily decedent inventory count and morgue cleanliness.
