Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support daily laboratory stocking and upkeep while assisting Forensic DNA Analysts and Technologists with tasks in the lab. The role also provides administrative support and requires adherence to SOPs and documentation in LIMS.

Responsibilities include stocking, cleaning, assisting with testing witnesses, and preparing evidentiary extracts for return to submitting agencies.

Qualifications

Associate degree in biology, forensics or other natural science; BS degree preferred.
Excellent laboratory skills.
Ability to concentrate and produce results with 100% accuracy.
Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Works in and around sterile laboratory environments and with laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

Stock laboratory with reagents and consumables; maintain adequate stock levels.
Clean and/or UV cross-link labware.
Assist with daily/weekly laboratory cleaning tasks.
Serve as testing witness to technologists and DNA analysts as required by SOPs.
Scan and verify case files and laboratory documentation.
Prepare and package evidentiary extracts for return to submitting agencies.
Perform laboratory equipment cleanings, verifications, calibrations or maintenance.
Meet or exceed quality and productivity expectations.
Follow SOPs and accurately record testing and processes in LIMS and worksheets.
May assist with quality control testing.
Provide other laboratory or administrative support as assigned.
Complete required trainings.
