Job summary

KVC Missouri Child Advocacy Center is hiring a Forensic Interview Specialist to support children and families affected by abuse in Poplar Bluff, MO. The role emphasizes sensitive interviewing, collaboration with law enforcement and partners, and timely reporting.

Requires a high school diploma and at least 2 years in a social services role; preferred include a human services degree. On-site position with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within the agency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children and families in a social services role.
• Strong customer service focus, excellent time management, oral and written communication skills.
• Independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Word and email applications.
• Ability to work productively and respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Willingness to work non-structured, flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Participate in training to conduct forensic interviews of alleged victims of child abuse
• Respond to referrals for forensic interview services promptly and professionally
• Conduct forensic interviews of alleged victims of child abuse, as scheduled
• Maintain working relationships with law enforcement, Children’s Division, attorneys and MDTs
• Submit summary reports to MDT members within 14 days of referral
• Maintain timely and accurate case files and records
• Provide court testimony and crisis intervention services
• Keep knowledge of community resources and confidentiality regulations
