Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Licensed Forensic Engineer to support complex investigations involving buildings, structures and construction disputes. The role blends site-based fieldwork with expert reporting and potential deposition or litigation support.

You will investigate damage, review documents, and provide evidence-led opinions to clients, with opportunities to grow into an acknowledged authority in forensic engineering within a trusted technical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• Active Professional Engineer license.
• Experience in structural engineering, building consulting, forensic engineering or failure investigations.
• Strong knowledge of building structures, materials and codes.
• Confident field inspections and assessment of building conditions.
• Ability to review complex information and form evidence-led opinions.
• Strong technical writing for reports and ability to present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Investigate structural damage, building defects and construction-related failures.
• Carry out site inspections and document physical conditions and evidence.
• Analyze drawings, calculations, specifications, codes and records.
• Evaluate structural systems, materials, design decisions and workmanship.
• Establish causes of failures and provide technical opinions.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports and supporting evidence.
