The firm seeks entry-level and experienced engineers for full-time, in-office roles at the Clovis, California office, with travel for field inspections (primarily within driving distance). Responsibilities include field inspections, data processing, 3D CAD reconstruction, and collision simulation analyses.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or higher.

Responsibilities

• Review Police Reports and related photographs.
• Inspect and document accident sites using laser scanning, drones, and video.
• Inspect and document crashed vehicles with laser scanning and digital tools.
• Process, analyze and interpret field data.
• Generate 3D CAD reconstruction diagrams from field data.
• Conduct case-specific research and testing.
• Perform computer-generated collision simulation analyses.
• Carry out rigorous engineering analyses with emphasis on detail and accuracy.

Castañeda Engineering, Inc. is a multi-disciplined consulting forensic engineering firm that specializes in the investigation, analysis and reconstruction of complex transportation related accidents.Since 2004, our firm has served as a trusted advisor to the legal and insurance communities, including public agencies, self-insured entities and original equipment manufacturers.Our team of dedicated professionals is comprised of registered professional engineers, project engineers and engineering technicians who possess the technical expertise and experience to manage a case from a “rapid response” through expert witness testimony at trial.

Job Description - Responsibilities

As an engineer with our firm, you will participate and be directly involved in field inspections and documentations of accident sites and vehicles, processing and evaluating field data and in reconstruction analyses of complex transportation-related accidents.Your engineering education and technical knowledge will be applied to evaluate and analyze factors which cause, or contribute to, collision events.Primary responsibilities will include:

• Review of Police Reports and associated photographs
• Performing inspections and detailed documentations of accident sites employing the use of static and mobile laser scanning equipment, drone-mounted cameras and digital video
• Performing inspections and detailed documentations of crashed vehicles employing the use of static laser scanning equipment, digital cameras and electronic crash data retrieval tools
• Processing, analyzing and interpreting field data
• Generating 3D CAD reconstruction diagrams from collected field data
• Performing case-specific research and testing
• Performing computer-generated collision simulation analyses
• Performing rigorous engineering analyses with an emphasis on detail and accuracy

Our firm seeks to hire entry-level and experienced engineers to join our forensic engineering – accident reconstruction team.We are specifically seeking motivated problem-solvers who excel in rigid-body dynamics and kinematics, possess a keen attention to detail, have a positive “can do” attitude and that can multi-task amid a fast-paced environment.Our current available positions are for full-time, in-office employment in our Clovis, California office and require travel for field inspections (majority of travel is driving distance within 1 day).

Qualifications

• B.S. degree, or higher, in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in CAD software applications
• Proficiency in Engineering analyses software applications
