Forensic Mechanical or Electrical Engineer

A valued client and specialist consulting firm is looking for experienced Forensic Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to analyze equipment and machinery failures across a range of industries. This role involves on-site inspections, root cause analysis, and reporting on equipment damage due to fire, water, mechanical failure, electrical failure and other incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct failure investigations on mechanical or electrical systems.
  • Assess damage severity and determine necessary repairs to restore equipment to pre-loss condition.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports outlining findings and recommendations.
  • Provide expert advice on repair, rebuild, and restoration strategies.
  • Travel as needed for on-site evaluations and inspections.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight, managing multiple projects efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Degree education
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one state.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in forensic analysis of mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical components, failure analysis, and repair strategies.
  • Ability to conduct on-site assessments in industrial settings.
  • Excellent report writing and client communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with electronic controls and PLCs is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
