Job summary

Fire Research & Technology LLC is seeking a Forensic Electrical Consultant to conduct investigations into origin and cause of electrical failures across industrial, commercial, and residential settings. You will document findings, prepare rule 26 compliant reports, provide expert testimony when required, and present conclusions to clients.

Strong writing, speaking, and analytical skills, plus willingness to travel, are essential. Minimum B.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. Electrical Engineering; master’s degree preferred.
• Must be qualified through training, education, experience or a Professional License.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical components at fire scenes to determine failure points.
• Document fire scenes and evidence with diagrams, photos, video, and 3D scans.
• Review CT and SEM data to document failure analysis.
• Present findings in reports; provide expert testimony if needed.
• Record time and activities expended for investigations.
