Job summary

Qualifications

• General knowledge of federal and state laws, penal codes, constitutional guidelines, local ordinances, and departmental rules and regulations.
• Familiarity with photography, audio/video equipment, radios, and operating motor vehicles.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist criminal investigations of crime scenes.
• Assist in processing and preserving evidence.
• Help determine sequence of events using crime scene procedures.
• Prepare detailed reports of work performed.
• Cooperate with prosecuting attorneys for court proceedings.
• Provide information to other law enforcement agencies as needed.
• Investigate assigned cases to determine circumstances of criminal activity.
