Job summary

The US Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System seeks a licensed psychologist (Ph.D. or equivalent) to advance humane, secure inmate care and ensure sound mental health evaluations.

You will administer and interpret objective and projective tests, evaluate competency to stand trial, contribute to treatment decisions, refer medical issues, and help determine transfers to specialized facilities. Qualifications

• Experience with objective and projective assessment instruments (intellectual, personality, neuropsychological).
• Experience evaluating inmates for competency to stand trial and responsibility for actions.
• Ability to formulate treatment program decisions and refer medical issues as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Administer and interpret psychological assessments for inmates.
• Evaluate and supervise evaluations of inmates to assess competency and related factors.
• Assist in treatment planning and decisions regarding transfer to specialized facilities.
• Assess attitudes and adjustment of inmates in programs and new initiatives.
