Job summary

Bureau of Prisons is seeking a doctoral-level psychologist to support clinical psychology functions within the Federal Prison System. The role involves designing and supervising mental health services, including assessment, therapy, and risk-focused discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in clinical or counseling psychology required.
• License to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. state/DC required (selective factor).
• One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level for GS-12/13, with relevant duties.

Responsibilities

• Administering, scoring and interpreting a wide variety of psychological tests.
• Plan therapy courses and develop discharge reports with risk assessment considerations.
• Provide individual and group psychotherapy on a regular basis.
• Provide assessment and referral services for staff with alcohol, drug, or emotional problems affecting job performance.
