Hudson International is looking for a qualified Professional Engineer to perform forensic investigations relating to Structural failure, Building Envelope Failure, and Construction Defects. Hudson International is a forensic engineering and consulting firm serving the insurance claims industry and legal community.

1. Travel to sites throughout the Northeast US to perform forensic investigations of insurance claims or lawsuits. Possible types of loss or dispute include (but are not limited to):
2. Compose detailed technical reports of your findings for presentation to the client. Reports will be well written in a professional manner and delivered to client in a timely manner. Most assignments will total 8-12 hours of billable time per assignment, although you will occasionally spend more or less time depending on client needs.
3. When necessary, testify as an expert witness in court or in depositions regarding your findings in your inspections.
4. Increase skill set by participating in regular continuing education.
5. Participate in Business Development initiatives set forth by Hudson International, including:
1. Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Successful candidate will be willing to apply for Professional Engineer’s license in additional states. Greater consideration will be given to candidates with more state licenses.
2. Must Be located in the Greater Philadelphia Area.
3. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
4. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience post college graduation.
5. Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to loss locations by car regularly. Most travel will be between Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, New York, and Connecticut, but travel outside of these locations may also be required occasionally. Air travel to various locations may be required occasionally (All travel expenses, including mileage, will be covered by the company).
6. Must be physically able and willing to climb on and inspect roofs (Drone usage is encouraged, but is not a suitable replacement for getting on the roof in most circumstances).
7. The successful candidate will be well spoken and a skilled writer.
8. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and be willing to take on new roles and responsibilities as necessary to further the success of the company (Primary job responsibilities will not change except by mutual agreement by the employee and the company).
9. The successful candidate will have a high level of integrity, morals, and professional ethics.
The following qualifications are not mandatory but will increase the candidate’s chances of successful hire and affect compensation package:
1. Previous Experience performing forensic investigations
2. Estimating Experience, Especially with Xactimate Software
3. Experience testifying as an expert witness
4. Graduate Level Degrees including Masters and PhD
5. Additional Professional Licenses and Certifications relevant to the work of forensic engineering investigations. These may include but are not limited to:
6. License as a Part 107 FAA Unmanned Aircraft Pilot (Drone License)
7. Competency operating specialized testing equipment
8. Participation and membership in industry organizations
$100,000 -$150,000 per year
Salary is highly negotiable and highly dependent on level of experience, qualifications, and the book of business which the candidate may bring to the job.
