Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Forensic / Toxicological Chemist for a remote contract role. You will write prompts in chemistry, assess model outputs, and collaborate with experts to ensure safe boundaries in AI systems.

This role offers weekly payments via Stripe Connect and a fully remote arrangement across the United States. Ideal candidates have strong background in forensic toxicology or related casework, experience with seized-drug trends, and proven technical writing or expert witness capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in controlled substance casework in a forensic laboratory.
• Background in clandestine laboratory response and precursor identification.
• Expertise in forensic toxicology, postmortem, or human performance casework.
• Experience in seized-drug and precursor trend monitoring or intelligence analysis.
• Strong technical writing, published research, or expert witness experience.

• Write challenging single-turn prompts in chemistry and chemical safety , labeled as benign, dual-use, or adversarial.
• Evaluate model responses against a defined policy standard and judge correctness.
• Write reference answers with technical reasoning for correct responses.

• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines and improve AI model performance.
