Job summary

The City of Philadelphia is seeking a technical forensic worker to perform full-performance level tasks in processing and dissecting bodies under a pathologist's supervision. Responsibilities include transporting, storing and releasing cadavers, and performing custodial duties to maintain a clean work area and equipment.

Work involves exposure to decomposed cadavers and requires physical effort on assigned shifts.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade.
• Completion of thirty credits which has included coursework in anatomy, biology, forensic science, mortuary science, or pathology.
• One year of experience dissecting human bodies, under professional supervision in a morgue or forensic pathology laboratory.

Responsibilities

• This is technical forensic work at the full performance level processing and dissecting bodies and participating in postmortem examinations under the expertise of a pathologist.
• Retrieve, transport, store and release bodies as part of cadaver processing and perform custodial tasks to ensure clean work area and equipment.

Education
