Job summary

Higgins & Associates, Inc. is a leading forensic architecture and engineering firm in Colorado, seeking a licensed PE or Architect with building enclosure expertise to lead investigations of roofing, waterproofing, fenestration and exterior walls.

You will support litigation and dispute resolution, review plans, develop expert reports, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with clients and insurers.

Qualifications

• Eight years of professional experience in architecture or building enclosure consulting with PE/Architect license.
• Experience performing litigation-related investigations and authoring expert reports.
• Knowledge of IBC, IRC, ASTM standards and industry associations.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines with attention to detail.
• Strong communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and BlueBeam Revu; knowledge of AutoCAD desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead forensic investigations of building enclosure performance, including roofing systems, waterproofing, fenestration and exterior walls.
• Design and direct diagnostic testing programs and moisture surveys.
• Review plans, submittals and documentation to establish design intent and causation.
• Develop expert reports and opinions defensible with codes and standards.
• Assist with architectural designs and specifications for repairs/rehabilitation.
• Mentor staff and provide technical advice to clients and attorneys.
• Support business development through client relationships and industry involvement.
