Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a skilled Auditor in the Financial department to provide general auditing and accounting services for fraud investigations. The role emphasizes developing audit guidelines, cross-functional communication, and proficiency with multiple accounting systems for complex investigations.

The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree, 3+ years of relevant experience, and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Four-year undergraduate degree or higher in statistical/data analysis, finance, accounting, fraud examination, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in finance, accounting, fraud examination or data analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the requisite background investigation.
• Preferred: experience reviewing medical records and knowledge of medical billing procedures; experience with STARS or Business Objects.
• Experience with federal or state legal or law enforcement entities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and audit a variety of accounting systems.
• Organize and present large volumes of data (bank records, healthcare claims, tax records, etc.) using common software.
• Assist with investigation planning, including quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify witnesses and documents.
• Prepare concise reports with charts, summaries and schedules.
• Assist with conferences and interviews of financial institutions and witnesses.
• Utilize electronic databases to identify assets and documents.
• Assess ability to pay penalties from financial disclosures and asset investigations.
• Develop and issue draft technical audit guidelines for financial audits and investigations.
• Prepare interim and final reports for staff; arrange secure storage and indexing of evidence.
• Assist in compiling and analyzing documents for charts, graphs, and motion materials; meet with agency personnel as needed.
